All Region Samsung Smartphone Bootloader Relock 2016 - 2018 Products

How to Relock Bootloader of 2016 to 2018-made Samsung Smartphones of All Regions?

Relocking Bootloader, as the name suggests is locking the Bootloader of your smartphone or tablet again. For relocking the Bootloader of Samsung devices, it does not matter what region your Samsung device is designed for. What matters is the year of production because Samsung has changed the security sections of devices produced in 2019.
So, in this article, I want to show you how to relock Bootloader of devices which were produced in 2018 and earlier.

If your device is flashed with unofficial/custom firmware files, such as custom ROM, custom Kernel, Root, OR RMM State Lock has been enabled on your device, I recommend you NOT to relock your device because it results in many problems such as Custom Binary block by FRP Lock. So, if you NO LONGER need Root, custom Kernel, and… on your device and if you are sure about your decision, you can relock Bootloader. But before doing that, you need to flash Official/Stock ROM on your device, then relock it.

In the following, I showed you the method for relocking all Samsung smartphones & tablets without differentiating among devices designed for specific regions. Meaning, the method is the same for all devices (EXCEPT for 2019-made ones) and is used for all regions. If you want to relock Bootloader of 2019-made smartphones & tablets, please click here.

Before relocking Bootloader I recommend you read this:

     • Relocking will not get your warranty back because your Knox is already tripped to 0*1.

     • Some Samsung international models which were made in 2016 and earlier are factory unlocked, thus they don’t need to be relocked by users.

     • This method is NOT used for devices produced in 2019 and later. To unlock Bootloader of these devices, please refer to this article.

     • By relocking your device using the instructions in this article, your data will NOT be wiped. So, don’t worry about losing your personal data stored on your cell phone or tablet. You can get a backup of personal/user data and store it on your PC or laptop, just in case!

     • I recommend you to, first, read this article fully then, start relocking.

     • In case your device is flashed with Custom ROM, Custom Kernel, Root and … FRP lock would be enabled after relocking Bootloader and Custom binary might get blocked by FRP. So, I recommend you to first, flash your device with Official or Stock ROM.

     • In case RMM State Lock has been enabled on your device, and you had unlocked its Bootloader by reading the article on Unlocking Bootloader of Devices with RMM State Lock, you need to know that RMM State Lock will be enabled after relocking. So, before you apply this method, please think twice so that you won't regret it later.

     • If password, pin, pattern or finger print lock is enabled, please disable them. Meaning, set lock screen on "No Lock Screen":

Menu → Settings → Lock screen and Security → Screen lock type → Swipe

It's time to start Bootloader Relocking process:

     1. Turn On your Android device and go to Settings=> Developer Options

(if you couldn't find Developer Options, go to:
Menu → Settings → About Phone → Software Information
And tap on "Build Number" 7 times. Developer Options would appear in Settings.)

     2. In "Developer Settings", DISABLE "OEM Unlock" to be able to Relock Bootloader. (Follow the instructions on the pictures)

3. Disable the "OEM unlock" like picture below.

4. When "OEM unlock" is disabled like in picture 9, Bootloader is relocked!!!

Notice: when disabling OEM Unlock, if the device asks you for a password or pattern, please enter Lock Screen password/pattern of your device.

Good Luck!
