What is Downloading Mode and Recovery Mode?
Downloading mode and recovery mode are two terminologies you might heard or you might know them a bit or you’ve never heard of them yet. Its all okay! smiley because we’re going to explain them in this article, so you would know them better.

Download mode, is also known as Odin and lets you Flash your phone and it allows you to access your firmware / stock ROM and the bootloader and your phone’s root files through this software called Odin, and because you can put your phone into downloading mode or recovery mode with this software, its called download mode also, instead of Odin! The only thing that you should do to use the download mode or flash your phone through computer / laptop is : put your phone into downloading mode and then connect your phone to the computer / laptop and then flash your phone with the Odin software.

Recovery mode is one of the most important modes in mobile repairing process and lets you access the custom ROM files and with this recovery mode you can wipe your device’s cache. We can say recovery mode is something like downloading mode but there’s a difference: you can get a backup of your phone’s data ( get a copy of your phone’s data) or recover the data that’ve been deleted from your phone.
Sometimes when you turn on your phone, it might stuck when your OS (Operating System) is booting or your phone doesn’t respond! Don’t worry, because you can go to the recovery mode still!wink with going to recovery mode and wipe your memory’s cache, its possible to solve this problem. But, going to downloading mode and flash your stock ROM would definitely works.

How to enter downloading mode in most Samsung Galaxy phones:
Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now for turning it on and boot your OS, press and hold “Volume down + Home + on/off button” at the same time and hold it till the OS boots. In this situation a display shows up with a warning sign. To continue the process press the volume up button.


How to enter downloading mode in Galaxy series of Samsung tablets:
Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now press and hold “volume down + turn on/off button” . a display with a warning sign shows up. To continue the process, press the volume up button.

How to enter downloading mode in Galaxy S Dous:
Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now turn the phone on by pressing and holding the “volume down + turn on / off button”. a display with a warning sign shows up now. To continue the process, press the volume up.

How to enter downloading mode in Galaxy S ll Sky Rocket:
Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now press and hold the “volume up + volume down ” at the same time and while you are holding them, connect the USB cable (which is connected to your computer / laptop already) to your phone. till you don’t feel the vibration of your phone and till its not turned on, keep pressing and holding the buttons. a warning sign shows up now. To continue the process, press the volume up.

Universal method to enter downloading mode in Samsung devices:
If none of the methods above didn’t work on the Samsung device you have, this universal method would definitely work, but it contains a little bit longer process than methods above. First of all you should install Android ADB and fastboot drivers on your computer / laptop.
Because you have to connect your phone to your computer / laptop and sometimes the computer / laptop doesn’t recognize your device when you connect it. That’s why you should download and install Samsung drivers to avoid not recognizing your device kind of problems.

next step is to download the Android adb. This software lets you run the commands you want into your phone, through the computer / laptop. So you would have full control on your phone.


Now go to settings, and in developer options, activate the USB Debugging Mode.
Connect your phone to the computer / laptop. In this situation you will see a display asking for USB Debugging permission. Click on OK to continue the process.
Open the fastboot folder you made with ADB & Fastboot Drivers, and hold the “Shift Key” of your keyboard and right click anywhere into the empty place of this folder and then click on “Open Command Window / Prompt Here”. Type this command into the window that’ll show up: adb reboot download , and press Enter. At the moment you press Enter, your phone must go to the download mode.

How to enter recovery mode:
This method will work on many Samsung devices. Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now try to turn on your device by pressing and holding the “volume up + Home + turn on / off". so you will enter to the recovery mode.

in some Samsung devices, after you completely turned your device off, to turn it on and enter to its recovery mode, you need to press and hold “volume up + power button (turn on/off button)”. At the moment you saw the Samsung logo, release the buttons and wait till the recovery mode shows up.
So, this is how you can enter recovery mode and flash and back up from your phone’s files and wipe your device’s memory’s cache. ** this method works on Samsung Galaxy Tablets,too**

If you have Galaxy Sll , Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Duos or devices like these, you can use this method to enter recovery mode:
Turn off the phone completely. You can turn your phone off by pressing and holding on/off button or remove your phone’s battery and then put it back. Now try to turn on the device by pressing and holding “volume up + volume down + power or turn on/ off” to enter recovery mode. So, this is how you can enter recovery mode and flash and back up from your phone’s files and wipe your device’s memory’s cache. ** this method works on Samsung Galaxy Tablets,too**
 

Universal method to enter recovery mode in Samsung devices:
If you couldn’t enter recovery mode with none of the methods above, this one would definitely work. But before you start, you should download and install Android ADB and fastboot drivers to your computer / laptop.
Now go to settings, and in Developer Option, activate USB Debugging Mode. Connect your device to your computer / laptop. It will ask your permission to USB Debugging. Click on OK. Open the fastboot folder you made with ADB & Fastboot Drivers, and hold the “Shift Key” of your keyboard and right click anywhere into the empty place of this folder and then click on “Open Command Window / Prompt Here”. Type this command into the window that’ll show up: adb reboot download , and press Enter. At the moment you press Enter, your phone must go to the download mode.
