Hello sir , can you help me understand the function of this ic PU14. it is overheating, i've checked the surrounding capacitor there is no short. . thisnic has 19v in pin 1, but no 3v and 5v alw.

check all pins . maybe one of them shorted to ground . 3v alw and 5v alw generated with pu2 not with this ic . this ic use this voltage not generate them . so check all pins of this ic and report them .

I have checked all the pin sir..is 3 kilo ohm considered short sir?

Update: I got lucky sir, i removed the ic and put it back again.. Then there is no more overheating and the voltage are all present now.. Laptop is now power on and working normally..

You probably do not know what the task of this ic is !!!
read and analyse schematic .
