Technical Support EC chip replacement

Greetings. Please I have a Dell latitude E5440
Motherboard : VAW30 LA-9832P

It's EC chip is bad. It draws current and gets extremely hot when laptop off.
My question is if I find a similar board and remove it's EC chip and replace here, will it work? Or it will need programming?.
