Hello.

This laptop was dead until we found a short to 1.35vsus which came from 1 out of 8 total RAM onboard chips. When we desoldered the chip, the short got away, the laptop turns on and draws 0.5a for seconds, without image, and then turns off and this boot loop continues forever.

Do you know if this RAM ic must get replaced or it can work without it, just with less memory capacity? The motherboard is VIUU3 NM-A074 REV 1.0 and the ram chip ELPIDA EDJ8416E6MB-GN-F (U15).

Attached schem. Thank you

Hello
You can replace the burnt buffer with the same one. Of course, make sure that the diode resistance is normal after removing the burnt part.
Also, if the specified resistors are according to the picture, there is a high probability that the onboard RAM will be disabled.
Test and announce the result.
