• Macs with Apple T2 Security Chip or Apple Silicon can sometimes require firmware revive or restore using another Mac and Apple Configurator.
• This is commonly used when firmware, recoveryOS, BridgeOS or startup security components are damaged. A revive tries to preserve data when possible, while a restore can erase the Mac. Use the official Apple workflow for these models.
• Intel Mac EFI/BIOS files can be involved in no boot, no display, firmware corruption, serial/identity issues, or board repair cases.
• A correct repair normally depends on exact model number, board number, year, T2/non-T2 status and original dump condition. Using a random EFI file can create new problems, so the file should be checked and prepared for the exact Mac board.
