Hello, I hope I post in the right section. I was just wondering if there is any video tutorial on removing the bios password on most common brands of laptops?

If not, is it possible to add to the video tutorials?

I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Great community here

Hello,

I hope the community is well.
I see that the author of the post has not followed up but I would like to continue this discussion.

I have exactly the same question. I'm currently analyzing the bios files (.bin) of which come from the same laptop, a Lenovo X250. One has a password and the other does not.
I'm using the Hxd software to make the comparison.

Is there any way of removing the password?

I'd also like to know if it's possible to load this X250 bios and inject it on another X250 laptop?

Thank you very much for your help ^^

Hello
Removing the BIOS password is different according to the device model and manufacturer.

A number of devices that have a password in their BIOS can be removed with the IC BIOS program.

Next, after entering the wrong password several times, it will give you the serial number of the device, according to the serial number of the device, enter the mother's password and that's it.

Next, the password is stored in the IC Security, in these models, like the old Lenovo Thinkpad, we connect the wires from pins 5 and 6 of the IC Security, and when the system is turned on, when we see the logo, we connect the two wires together, and then press the F1 key. to enter the BIOS settings and then enter the password supervisor and change the password and at this moment disconnect the connection and enter the new password.

The next thing, for example, in the new Thinkpad laptops, the password is stored in the IC SIO, which we have to program.

Thank you very much for your explanations. So when someone asks you to remove the supervisor password. You inject the person's bios into the IC chip and then physically intervene by shorting pins 5 and 6. You enter the bios to remove the password and then dump the bios.
In any case, this is for the X250.
very clever ^^

In the meantime, I've been messing around with my X250. I wanted to change the serial number by modifying it. I injected the modified bios. I've got a black screen and the power button light on (green/yellow).

Did you have this problem when re-injecting a bios?

Thanks for your help
