reputation_scoree

This is another episode of Basic Electronic series in which we will analyze an electronic element called Inductor. The most important theoretical and practical concepts of inductor (Coil or choke) element are covered on this video, from testing to placing and removing it.
Target audience of the Basic Electronic videos are beginner repairmen and those who are interested in electronics in general.
Note: Please download all 3 files and extract one of them and then you’ll have a 40 minute video 🎞
Enjoy 💚🌸

This video is dubbed into English!

Thank you fro your video.
After watch I have one question: You mentioned, that coil shoould be check in both (two) ways:
  • first is to check continuity (ohms mode). I understand this. So good coil should have minimum resistance, arround 0.2 Ohm. Anyway did I understand it right?
  • and second should be checked in diode mode, because of "ohmic mode"

Could you please eyplain one more time, what is this "ohmic"? How is look like good (and fail) coil when tested in diode mode?

Thank you,

Regards

Dear KEKEC3778,
That is an excellent question. Whenever we say check a component on "Both ways" what we mean by both ways is by reversing the probes (placing and reversing the black and red probes on components).
Hope that was helpful.

I did not know that

Actually I did not know that this could be potential problem. Just wanted to be sure. Thank you.
