Hello,

I replaced the motherboard on my HP 650 G1 with the following 2 screens of Startup Messages.

"WARNING!! - Machine is not in committed state!"

"Product Information Not Valid"

(system board is missing or invalid, requires SYSTEM BOARD (00A), Product Name, S/N, SKU, Family, CT#)

I have downloaded the HP Fix Tools from...
How to solve' Warning!! - machine is not in committed state!

I have read the post with subject,"How To Solve "Product Information Not Valid" Issue In HP Laptop"
How To Solve "Product Information Not Valid" Issue In HP Laptop

In the HP Fix Tool I have tried all 3 Brands 11,12 & 13 and all just bring me to the SHELL> prompt.

I tried wndmifit app, but I get this message, "MPM is not unlocked. Will not be able to set BIOS settings. Please escalate with UUID to get SMC blob to unlock MPM"
I do not know how to "escalate with UUID".

TIA!

UPDATE...

The above motherboard works with annoying BIOS messages, to truly fix it, more likely needs a BIOS chip replacement. I didn't know what I was getting into when changing the motherboard, totally unprepared, thinking it was an "easy" swap.

The main reasons to changing to a new motherboard was the support for a LED Backlight Keyboard and CPU Power Rails supporting Quad-Core 4th GEN CPU's with 47W. The original motherboard only supported 27W or 37W Dual-Core 4th Gen CPU's and no led backlight keyboard connector.

Yesterday received and installed another new motherboard that is setup in Manufacturing mode.

* While in Manufacturing Mode do not Factory Default BIOS and/or Upgrade BIOS *
  • my mistakes, causing system bios information to go blank
  • not having the Dr-Bios' wndmifit tool before Manufacturing Mode ended and giving the messages in the original post above

If the BIOS doesn't see the Windows Disk, goto into the Bios Boot setup and change from Legacy to UEFI.

For BIOS Configuration Utility, I used the latest HP version SP143621.exe. I only need to match the Laptop Decal and New Motherboard CT#. I edited these fields/settings: SKU Number, System Configuration ID, Serial Number, Asset Tracking Number (to SN) and System Board CT (note: some other setting not important will not change like; Warranty Date, FCC, etc.)

Once the BIOS Configuration Utility sets the fields/settings then reboot. On boot up press ESC to view BIOS Information and the changes are in effect.

Once in Windows, go to Dr-Bios’ HP_Fix Tools then directory wndmifit run wndmifit.exe double check settings, leave the two ON settings to ON. If looks good, do Confirm and Lock. You are Done. Closed all windows and reboot. Now on boot up and only normal BIOS prompts will show (no Warnings or Not Valid messages).

My HP 650 G1 is working great with Quad-Core CPU and Backlight Keyboard! I did replace the dvd drive for an SSD caddy for dual-boot with Windows 11 IoT with Linux in the main SATA location. But there is a BIOS limitation and will not boot and freeze on boot. Only having the Linux on the main SATA connection withot the SSD caddy works. I put the Windows drive in an external ESATA enclosure connected to the docking station's ESATA port for dual boot that works.

Great site and people!
