Good afternoon. I have an HP envy x360 15z-eu000. The motherboard number is 448.0ML05.0011. There was minor water corrosion which was cleaned. There is a dead short on the bios chip vcc rail. I injected voltage into the pad hoping the shorted component will heat up, but I found nothing. The laptop charges, otherwise it's completely dead. I would assume the buck converter is the source of the 3v bios power line but I can't locate it.

Hello. Unfortunately I did not find the schematic. But usually the BIOS, IO and PCH supply voltages are the same. If there is a problem in the IO, it heats up, but sometimes the chip draws a small current and does not show heat, especially when the abrasion is on its base. Also clean the board well because the corrosion is in the direction of 3 volts and has caused the water to become oxidized.
