Technical Support Is Gigabyte main and backup the same file?

Hi,
Can i program the same BIOS bin file into the Main BIOS and backup BIOS on gigabyte boards or are they different?

They are the same... If the Main bios get corrupt, the motherboard will use the backup BIOS.
That's my understanding. Pls, correct me if Im wrong anyone. thanks

I don't think motherboard can have 2 bios with same program in it. may be one is for EC and one is for VGA.

When there is a BIOS firmware failure detected, the "Backup" BIOS will first recover the "Main" BIOS file back to its factory default BIOS version, and everything is back to normal again. If the BIOS failure is due to actual hardware damage, the Backup BIOS will take over and function as the Main BIOS.

I agree, i've just programmed both chips with the same file and it now works fine (original BIOS corrupted).
